The authors are two divorced women who decided to write Divorce. Wilderness. Peace… A 40 Day Healing Journey (DWP) to provide the help they wished their mothers had, that they had and that others experiencing divorce should have. Having survived the long-suffering process of divorce, Paula and Alexis are now sharing their compelling stories and life lessons to promote healing, well-being, and the gifts each step brings along the journey of rebirth, forgiveness, and rediscovery. Using their personal struggles and professional skills they are on a mission to help others through the challenges of divorce.

Paula Drew Fleming is a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial, Emmy winning journalist, educator, and business owner with television and community outreach experience in major markets, and an author. Following 27 years of marriage that ended in divorce, she reinvested in her education. She has a Master of Arts in Human Sciences (Psychology and Sociology) and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. She is also certified in Conflict Resolution and Family Mediation. Currently, Paula is three years into a Ph.D. program in Business Leadership from Our Lady of the Lake University.  She also serves as a mentor to young writers in elementary school, promoting a love for writing.  Paula is from East Elemhurst Queens, New York. She resides in the Houston suburb of Pearland, Texas.

Alexis Thal Yancey a twice married, twice divorced Emmy winning television news producer, manager, radio reporter and entrepreneur who has worked for network and major market television news operations. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Wisconsin, is CEO of Alexis Yancey Productions, and is a licensed spiritual coach and practitioner with the Centers for Spiritual Living. Alexis currently produces Texas Public Radio’s Fronteras, a program about issues along the U.S. – Mexico border and changing demographics in the southwest.  She is a teacher and mentor to aspiring journalists and recently served as director of Expressions of Gratitude, an Art and Essay Competition for students in grades K-12 on the values of thanksgiving and gratitude for The Thanks-Giving Foundation.  Alexis, a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, lives in Dallas, Texas.
